You may haven’t heard of environmental science and what this does. Well basically, this is a field that is studying interaction between the natural and human systems. In the former, this involves life and the planet itself. Human systems on the other hand talks mainly about us; the people who are populating earth.

The Broad World of Environmental Science

Environmental science is academic field that is taking biological, chemical and physical sciences to be able to analyze the environment and to discover brand new ways of solving environmental issues. Sciences that are used in environmental science do include but is not limited to:

  • Ecology
  • Geology
  • Zoology
  • Geography
  • Physics and;
  • Oceanology

Environmental science is branching out into environmental engineering and studies as well. This is providing interdisciplinary and integrated approach to study various environmental challenges.

How the Two Disciplines Vary?

With regards to environmental studies, these are focused on studying social sciences to further understand interactions with environment.

Environmental engineering however is focused on deducing and analyzing problems in our environment and the impact of manmade programs to it. Part of their job as well is to find solutions that will preserve and protect the environment by means of disposing pollution in land, water and air.
